Zayna Mediterranean Restaurant on N Belvedere Ave offers a down-to-earth dining experience centered around authentic Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors. This is the type of spot where locals drop in for reliable, well-prepared dishes that balance comforting homestyle recipes with fresh, vibrant ingredients.

The atmosphere feels casual and welcoming rather than polished or trendy, with a layout that can accommodate anything from solo diners to large groups, as one review notes their book club was comfortably seated in a private back room. This flexibility suggests it’s a great pick for informal gatherings, casual dates, or a relaxed solo lunch.

Menu-wise, Zayna shines with classic offerings like falafel, grape leaves, and chicken shawarma alongside standout items such as the cauliflower sandwich and their signature Zayna fries. Vegetarians and vegans will find suitable options too, highlighting how the spot caters well beyond just meat eaters. Sauces like garlic and tahini, plus fresh pita bread and dips such as hummus and baba ganoush, add depth without fuss.

For those who savor Middle Eastern sweets or coffees, the pistachio baklava and Turkish or Arabic coffee provide a fitting finish. Paired with mint tea, these touches give the meal a sense of place and a nod to Mediterranean tradition.

The restaurant also offers thoughtful touches in service — attentive servers who are comfortable managing special requests and separate checks, as well as a quick and smooth pickup option for those grabbing takeout. Portions tend to be generous and satisfying, making it both a practical and enjoyable spot to pick up a meal to go or dine in.

Visitors can expect a straightforward, no-frills setting where the focus stays on the food and the reliable consistency with which it’s presented. It suits anyone looking for genuine Mediterranean flavors without needing a formal dining atmosphere, from longtime fans keeping up a favorite local to newcomers exploring the neighborhood’s culinary offerings.

I have been a customer of Zayna's since their original location, and I have never had a disappointment ever. This is honestly my favorite spot for Greek/Mediterranean food. There is not a single item here I have ever been disappointed with. From their hummus and baba ghanoush dips and pita bread, to my favorites their falafel and grape leaves. Great texture and mixture of warm and soft on the outside to their crunchy outside. I like to dip mine in their lemon and olive oil dressing or hummus. Now they offer a variety of meals in both a platter or sandwich style. Im a fan of either because no matter what you will get great food and service. My son enjoys their chicken shawarma sandwich because he loves their pita bread. I'm partial to the lamb shown here or the beef kiftka. I do enjoy their salads again with the lemon and olive oil dressing but I'm an even bigger fan of their fries which have a kick of their own, but can't go wrong with a dip of your choice. My son also favors their rice which is another good side option. And to wash it all down you can't go wrong with a cold mint tea. Drink it as is or add your favorite sweetener for something refreshing and diabetic friendly. As I have told others, you really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Great for a carry out option but if you can, stop in and enjoy your meal in a very nice, relaxing atmosphere. The staff is always nice, the restaurant is always clean, it's a great experience.

I’ve been consistently going to Zayna’s going on 10 years. The food is always great and consistent quality. I went hear back when I was vegan, and although I’m no longer vegan I still occasionally enjoy their vegan options, specifically the cauliflower sandwich with Zayna fries. Also the garlic sauce is a must!

The food here has always been great. I tend to over order so I can have at home later. I ordered the Potato and Falafel appetizers, the lamb combo, Turkish coffee, Pistachio Baklava and Mint Tea. The food was all very good. Though I am still a little perplexed on my seating arrangement. I dined alone and was sat in a small room and ended up the only patron in the room after another couple, who looked like they were in their pajamas btw, that were dining before me had left. As others diners came in they were seated in the larger dining room, every last one of them. I'm not sure if I am missing a cultural standard or what the deal was. I was dressed very nicely as I had just left a wedding. In fact I've never been seated in the larger back room now that I think of it. Not sure I will return anytime soon as something was just off about my treatment.

We were a party of ten (Book Club). They seated us in a back room so we wouldn’t disturb others & could hear ourselves talk. Very accommodating! Our server was wonderful, attentive & didn’t blink an eye when we asked for separate checks. The food was delicious as always. Highly recommend Zaynas for Mediterranean food.

Well worth the money! The quality, taste and portions of the food was more than expected. It was easy to order, quick to pickup and what a delight all 3 of us experienced when we opened our meals. And the taste of everything was VERY good. Even the green beans - lol. Easily give this place 5 stars.

Wow what a great surprise Zayna is! Every bite is extraordinary. The babaganoush was so creamy and smooth perfectly balanced. The meats tender and seasoned so well. Its hard to find this kind of food cooked at this level even in the biggest cities in the country.h I can only compare to Syrian food in Dubai. Tucson you are so lucky to have this restaurant in your neighborhood.

Oh. My. God. How am I just now stumbling into Zayna Mediterranean like it hasn’t been a whole neighborhood secret this entire time? I swear, the locals really gatekept this one — and honestly, I get it. This cozy, tucked-away gem was absolutely buzzing when I walked in, and now I know why. The falafel? Crispy perfection. The hummus? Silky, bright, and wildly addicting. Their lentil soup was this comforting, aromatic bowl of “where-have-you-been-all-my-life.” And the fact that they not only have a large vegetarian lineup but can easily make dishes vegan? Bless them. Oh — and VEGAN BAKLAVA . A rarity, but they pulled it off beautifully. I’m officially obsessed. Consider me converted… and mildly annoyed no one told me sooner.
